Trail link from New Plymouth to Lake Mangamahoe MTB park

The Trails Trust has been advocating alongside the New Plymouth Mountain Bike Club for a safer route from New Plymouth to Mangamahoe MTB Park. Our Trustees met with New Plymouth District Council in 2021, and worked through the route and the work that needed to be done.

One of the first parts to be fixed is the entry point into reserve off the SH3 just past the Burgess Hill bridge. Thank you to Downer for their donation to help make this happen.

Creating this safe connection, especially for our young bikers who don’t have a licence is critical. We will continue working with New Plymouth District Council this year to get additional way finding and access completed.
